16.09.202605:40:05UTC+00Kyrgyzstan Industrial Output Contracts in August

Industrial production in Kyrgyzstan fell by 9.6% year-on-year in August 2026, reversing a 6.3% increase in July and marking the first decline after ten consecutive months of annual growth. Manufacturing output dropped 11.2% (vs +0.4% in July), driven by contractions in food production, textiles, computers, electronic and optical equipment, as well as other manufacturing, repair, and installation of machinery and equipment. Production also decreased in mining and quarrying (-3.6% vs +38.5%), and in electricity, gas, steam, and air conditioning supply (-9.8% vs +4.7%). By contrast, growth in water supply, waste management, and recovery of secondary raw materials remained positive but slowed to 19.6% from 20.3%. Over January–August, overall industrial output rose 8.8%, down from a 12.9% increase in the same period a year earlier.
